Your smile can mean a lot to other people around you. A smile has been proven to be one of the first things which other people will notice in another person. Unfortunately, not everyone has the confidence to smile the way they should because of the bad formation of their teeth. Luckily, with the recently advanced developments in orthodontics especially in melbourne cosmetic dentistry, your dream smile is now possible.
Other than wearing the regular braces in straightening your teeth, there is a whole new way of teeth straightening which is proven to straighten teeth for months rather than years. It is also very ideal for those people who have hectic work schedules. It is still a process of wearing braces. However, a dental surgery is being applied to lessen the supposed time in straightening the teeth, and this process is called the accelerated orthodontics. It involves a minor surgery which can costs higher than the regular braces.
How Does Accelerated Orthodontics Work?
There are several kinds of Accelerated Orthodontics, and they are performed differently.
AcceleDent Method: In this kind of Accelerated Orthodontics, the patient is only required to wear the hands-free device for only twenty (20) minutes a day. It uses a very gentle pulsing technology which is known to speed up the straightening process of the teeth.
Propel Alveocentesis: In this method, it will stimulate the gums and bones around your teeth to enable the cytokine activity to increase. With this process, it allows the remodeling of the teeth and bones faster and easier. It is also known to be target specific. It can also apply to individual teeth without having to include the other set of tooth.
Micro-Osteoperforation: In this process, a force is being applied to be able to move the teeth to its proper and desired position. This process is somewhat similar to the propel alveocentesis.
Surgical Removal of Tissue: Another kind of Accelerated Orthodontics is the surgical process of removing of excess tooth tissue which allows for tooth movement.
All of these process and methods mentioned above still require retainers. The patient must be able to wear it for approximately six (6) months after the alignment procedure is done. This would keep the bone to recover faster and to keep the tooth’s position in the right place. It is also required to still have a proper hygiene of your teeth or oral because germs can accumulate on the braces or retainers.
